Moonbow at Cumberland Falls, Ky., Daniel Boone Nat'l Forest. With demise of a moonbow-fall in Africa, this is the sole moonbow anywhere. Shots around 11:00pm, Oct. 3, 2006. Sole lighting... a nearly-full moon through a light overcast. Too dark to walk without a flashlight. Time-exposures. No photo is as dark as actual conditions. Intentionally exposed some to appear close to dark, others to appear to be daylight so surrounding areas visible. Moonbow formed by moonlight on mist from the falls. Falls 65-feet high, 125-feet across. The nearest accurate photos are the darkest ones.
